Using hints without the flybys that cover data and often annoy users | Answer:
As a Delphi contractor I am amazed at the number of other Delphi developers of all abilities who do not know of the Tstatusbar's Autohint property.
Set this to true and all hints will appear in the statusbar or panels have been added then the first panel. This produces a neat solution and works regardless of a component's showhint status.
